The weight gain happened- may be rapidly but certainly never overnight. The time that will be required to reverse the weight gain is months. I won’t say years because a consistent effort will bring much of relief and the desired weigh loss within a few months.
But the entire process of food intake and an audit of food preferences and mends in food quantity and contents is very subjective. An individual will have to decide based on the cravings and intake and bring in alternatives and cutting down fat intakes.
